Description
This is my first attempt to get a character down on paper - so to speak. He is a bit of a moody prat who doesn't actually do the whole blue swirly magic thing in the story, but I drew his hand like that so it called out for some blue crazyness. There is context, but context was too much effort to draw.

I learned a lot on this picture
1. Don't start too small because resolution is a bitch
2. You can invert a single layer
3. I hate drawing buttons
4. I tried and failed at reflected light

It took about 5 hours all told.

I would appreciate any comments, in particular suggestions on how I might improve
