Description So, to those of you in the HSIS/Millennium-Verse...Did you know Tara Watts saved the world at 5 years old?

Tl;dr Version: Absorbing alien gets beaten by 5-year old girl. A cover-up ensues.

-----------------------------

To those missing context, here's the deal. A villain barely anyone remembers.

Assimilatron
OMEGA Villain
Quirk: Absorption

Assimilatron is a titanic Abzorbalovian who had modified himself to be able to absorb people with Quirks. I.e. superheroes and the like. And that's pretty much what he set out to do! Working his way up, he absorbed superhero after superhero, exploiting their weaknesses, working around them, using security technology that detects and eliminates threats, and making himself one of the biggest threats the Earth had ever seen.

With his powers, superheroes and vigilantes would be absorbed, for useful Quirks and Knowledge. Police would get destroyed on sight. Rebellions would get crushed underfoot. And he had a machine that he planned to use, to make his absorbed victims permanently a part of him. All of them. He had almost become unbeatable. He almost won.

Except...he made a fatal mistake.

He left someone behind.

-------------------------------

Tara Watts.

Assimilatron came after the Watts family too. And out of all of them, Tara was the ONLY one he left behind. He figured it was no big deal at all. Why would he? As far as he knew, she was just a normal, crying kid who wanted her mommy. After all, he figured it'd take YEARS for her to grow up, gain a heroic resolve from her trauma, and organize a rebellion he could easily take down.

Except no. She put on an IQ-Enhancing Helmet. And went to go rescue her family. Only an hour after the incident. In an unarmed rocket ship. All by herself. She'd ask adults for help, except there weren't any that could!

---------------------------------

There's an inherent flaw in "Threat Detecting Security" Assimilatron implimented. It acts depending on how threatening the opponent is. Whether their opponent has weapons, armor, enhancing technology, superpowers, strategic setups, whatever. It's ready for them.

But a mouse crawling around the pipes? A scared little girl holding a crumpled piece of paper (which actually was a printout of a dangerous memetic agents)? It doesn't do anything. Because it's "not worth" the effort. No wonder this became so easy for her!

---------------------------------

The superheroes were indeed freed. But in their daze from being regurgitated back out, hardly any of them remember Tara being there.

Those that do fully realize what happened...they covered up Tara's act of childhood bravery. To keep public morale up, and prevent a panic, they had the people of Proxima City believe that the heroes' resolve and bravery had allowed them to persevere. That they freed themselves. Therefore...every helpless hero who'd been assimilated? THEY'RE the ones who got the credit for his defeat. For the good of the public, they rationalized.

However...she'd not gone entirely unrewarded. Several superheroes from the community who realize what she did kept it secret, but treated her with respect and kindness growing up. Many of them saw hero potential in her!

And the Watts Family? When they saw her...all they wanted to do was hold her, and tell her everything was okay now. To finally take her home. And finally sign her up for normal school, like she wanted!

-----------------------------------

Years later...Assimilatron has made his return. And using a mental broadcasting device, he spreads the memory of his TRUE reason for defeat. Making people see what really defeated him, and what lies their heroes had fed to them.

And...he has a score to settle with this girl.
She beat him once. Can she beat him again? Only time will tell!

While, if this thing attacked the AoF, he would have his mothership shot out of the fucking sky by  Avalanche Missles/Pulse Laser Cannons/Mass Drivers when he failed to respond to the hail.

The magister doesnt believe in superheroes.

Why cover-up?

Simple! The heroes who covered it up figured it'd cause a massive panic or public outcry, knowing literally EVERY superhero who went after him failed.

That the situation got so bad, they needed to rely on a normal child to save them all. They wanted the public to keep having faith in the heroes that protected them, and not feel the need to send their children out to fight.

So they simply made a speech about their heroic resolve giving them the power to break out of Assimilatron's grasp. And gave the credit of Assimilatron's defeat to the Wraith. A more believable "Badass Normal" hero.

Interesting fun fact: Jason was still operating as the Wraith at this time, but was overlooked since he didn't have powers. So he planned an elaborate, insane, incredibly dangerous rescue operation to free the other heroes. The sort of plan that would leave Batman and Iron Man spinning.

...then a six year old saves everyone on accident.

Actually, it's a 5-year old that saves everyone with a relatively amateur plan that worked out near-perfectly!

...then a couple of those rescued heroes swept her heroism under the rug. And even tried to pass on a good chunk of the credit to Jason!

Whether or not he took up that offer, he figured out what really happened.

Jason does take the credit, actually (after humiliating and exposing those other heroes) if only to protect Tara.

Taking down a Class-S threat puts you on everyone's watchlist, so he decides to take both the credit and the heat to save Tara.

Ahh, of course! Basically doing that, so she still got to enjoy her childhood without having public media attention forced on her.

And well...realizing she did this by herself, because she thought trusting adults with this was NOT a good idea. I mean she grew up with Watts and Milla/Manchild and Womanchild. XD

Cue to a long talk about getting adults for help before risking her life.
