Love is a brilliant idea, butaround the most placid dreams come
flowers and silence,
serendipity and snowfall,
matutinal silhouettes in
the realm of awakening moss.
When cats revolt,
our darker purpose may
finally become clear --
with child-like wonder
and the charm of grit
neutrino dowsing will not be
our last resort.
Love is, after all, a brilliant idea.
