Hi, I come from the ProjectComment  so i'm going to comment your artwork if you allow me to. Here we go. 

First of all, i really like the design, the colors are fine and how they contrast (because orange and blue do that), is a good combination, the little bright in the hair add a slight touch, it's charming, a delightful. It's nice to look at. It's clear enough the idea of the character, them doesn't need anything more for understand what it is, a human, a cute one xd. For that reason you don't need to add shadow or more textures or others details, those are for icons more complex than this (like an animal, a soldier, or a character more dramatic) Simple and pretty, maybe adding a little bright in the eyes (an animation maybe) would make them more eye catching and cuter, but that leave it for other occasion, keep improving!
Also you could make it bigger (but i don't know if you have to do it in a certain size, is that so?)
The lineart is also well done, the style is like a draw but with a touch of bits and that look so cool!
Congratulation for not using black for the lineart, also black wouldn't suit them at all
