Short for a dragonborn, Kaida briefly worked in a flower shop when she was younger. Her father's stories of being in the guard simply did not appeal to her; tossing drunks out on their ears when they were causing problem and breaking up knifefights did not seem like the kind of life she wanted to lead.

But while she was a little shy, she had a good heart, and when one of her friends who had moved out to a smaller village sent her a letter asking her to ask her father for help, she ended up buckling on some armor herself out of a sense of personal responsibility. Her father had taught her how to fight, when she was younger, in the hopes she might take an interest in the guard, but she never did.

Sure, it might have been a few years since she really sparred, but it's not like you can forget that stuff, right?
