Hey guys, as you may or may not know that I am currently am working on a thesis concerning video gaming. After a bunch of paperworks are done, it's finally time to make the real thing...THE GAME.And as you may or may not know as well that I am an SNK fan, plus fighting game require less memory since it is just about people fighting. So here I have the first four participants, they are former KOF characters and formerly MALE. But just because it's awesome I made them female.
left: Iori Yagami
2nd from the left: Kyo(ko) Kusanagi
3rd: Ash Crimson (not like this guy need any help being a girl)
4th: K Dash
I took some liberty with their stance, because if I copied exactly, some of them look a bit muy macho for a girl. So I make them a little looser, legs wide apart, or in case of Kyo--nothing really changed. I am planning for a total of 8 or 7 char at most, nothing fancy. But after these main characters are done, I was wondering who else should I do? Kensou? Terry? Shen Woo? NAMELESS? or perhaps entirely NEW, custom characters. Tell me what you think about this

Good luck on your project. I was thinking of you make the storyline like Mignon turned them into female but they continue fighting...that'll be a funny story for a fighting game but it would be like a side series for KoF

However, I am just so used to seeing that rubber band thingy dangling from Iori' pants. Perhaps you can incorporate that into the female version? Will make her more Iori-like, for sure.

Well I'm using Iori's midnight blissed version from SVC Chaos. ^^ So in order to do what you wanted me to do I must make female Iori wear pants...or...something...any ideas?

Yeah, making one...already made a few (mostly platformers and one really NSFW Flash game) it isn't really that hard, you just need to work non-stop for weeks at a time or so...(it sucked)
For this one, I'm thinking it will took me about a year if I hurry up. Oh, and forget "team" here, this is a solo effort baby. I might end up dead, but it'll be worth it ^^

Nah, the very reason I don't use Flash is because it is far too weak to produce quality games. The closest is KOF WING (google it if you wanna give it a try) But, seriously...sound conversion is weak and Flash is simply not meant to create a game engine, game physics will be spotty at best. Plus, GLITCHES!! (right click, rewind?)
also, Flash requires everything to be imported into its format. I could use some versatility here...what if I want to let player to put custom content? he have to import to Flash and therefore lose quality. Flash is for Browser Gaming and that's it.

KOF is The King Of Fighters, best fighting game this side of underrated island. Check the latest KOF:[link] I've been a fan since the FIRST KOF in 1994, about 16 years ago. This game is serious, newb will feel unwelcome and since alot of today's player have never even touch the 90's era arcade machine let alone play a super-technical fighter, it's a safe bet nobody will be respecting this good game.

I agree, Shen need to be feminified ^^ Actually SNK is already sorta working on a male Elizabeth, judging from the unreleased pic of KOF XII. But it's worth considering.

Well, it's like this, There's an imageboard. And there's lots of people on that imageboard and all of us have a unique character that we draw ourselves as. Like, for example:
Singlet - a Dexter-like scientist guy.
Hellstroem - an old-enough-to-be-your-grandfather playboy, who smokes a pipe and drinks cognac.
Epic Hair Guy - demon lives in his hair.
Epic Fail Guy - pretty much self-explanatory.
Since these people actually exist, I thought it would be awesome to make an online fighting game where they could duke it out as themselves and other characters.
Am I too ambitious? ._.

Not at all, MUGEN already made the said game available (and you can edit your characters or make entirely new ones) A MUGEN roster can reach thousands of characters, all of them unbalanced ^^.
Hmm, interesting...unfortunately, I am concentrating on fighting engines more. Do you play any of the old school 90's era arcade fighters? plus the game you're talking about sounds alot like Guilty Gear.
^^ We should reserve this idea for an another entirely new fighting game.
But I'm just working on a simple fighter here, paying attention more on the engine (which would be based on a KOF engine) and I just need some fresh idea about characters, the characters cannot have over the top power and he/she HAS to fight with fists (or legs) with minimum projectile moves. Don't wanna end up like SFIV with Sagat and Ken dominating.

since you are working with a gender bending theme, I would suggest taking som eof the more well known female character and bending them as well.
Mai and Athena would be interesting.
