Description
This idea came from the MCU/Arrowverse/Supergirl crossover fanfic Infinity Crisis , which led to spin-offs showing how Thanos' snap affected other universes, and also potentially affect events of the rest of the MCU.

Since Earth-838 includes the Patrick Stewart Professor X which would imply the rest of the X-Men also resemble the ones from the Fox movies (but apparently having a similar history of the 90's cartoon), while the MCU versions have yet to appear, I like to think that characters from other non-Marvel movies, shows and games might also have counterparts on Earth-838 as well. Steven Universe is on the Future Series Additions list on the fanfic's WMG page on TV Tropes. So I have this idea that in this universe, Rose Quartz still lives (thus Steven is never born, and may or may not have even met Greg) and could be a member of the Illuminati.

Probably Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl were the ones who died instead, killed while fighting against their people, which left Rose somewhat jaded and hardened. Maybe to the point of convincing the rest of the Illuminati to take down the Great Diamond Authority and liberating the Gem Homeworld.

Homeworld's attempted colonization may even be partial reason why this Earth has a few cosmetic differences, like red light meaning go and green light meaning stop, and pizzas being made into balls. ^^
