I drew Link because I thought it was going to be easier and more relaxing than the last couple of pics. HAHAHA it wasn't XD Probably even harder... I think I'm starting to get the hang of this new rendering technique, but the hardest part was forcing myself to rethink how I drew his face. The general proportions I prefer are still there but it was imagining how he would look a bit more realistically. Those of you who have been following me long enough would know how far this is from my style when I started.The Link in Twilight Princess is by far my favourite incarnation of him, and this is my interpretation and how I see him (and yes, I prefer more mature looking MEN than boys XD) This week's announcement of the new Smash Bros may or may not have anything to do with me drawing this ;D

This is by far my favorite picture of Link. Some of us started playing Legend of Zelda at such a young age and he was one of those first animated characters we fell in love with. He was seen as our first "hero" and "knight in shining armor." As an adult now (still playing Legend of Zelda π And reading fan fiction) this is exactly how I picture him. If only he was real... xD I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Β When a lot of people draw Link in a more realistic style, they have trouble balancing his bishonen aspects with manlier ones. You've kept his prettiness...and yet, made him masculine. I appreciate this.

All digital from start to finish - I created custom brushes in the program to emulate real brushes to get that effect
