Description Thalassa is a name that comes from the ancient Greek word "thalassa," meaning "sea." In Greek mythology, Thalassa was the primordial goddess of the sea, who emerged from the void of Chaos along with other cosmic beings. She was the daughter of Aether, the god of the upper air, and Hemera, the goddess of day. She was also the wife of Pontus, another primordial god of the sea, and the mother of various sea creatures, including the Telchines and Halia.

Thalassa was not only a goddess, but also the personification of the sea itself. She was sometimes depicted as a woman made of seawater, with seaweed as her clothes and crab claws as her horns. She could also manifest as a calm or stormy sea, depending on her mood.
