Description

part 2 of this drawing .
A friend asked me where blues was is in the last post I made on this au and I was like good question, he's there... somewhere not sure where but he's definitely in there. It took me a while after that to decided what I wanted to do with him but I eventually settled on the idea that became this comic. hope you like it.

Now onward! To head-canon! (and angst, lots of angst)

Dr. Light- Minor nobleman that caught the old king's eye due to his skill in engineering and was given a royal patronage. He became close to and fell in love with the crown princess shortly afterward. They then got married and had two sons together. He briefly ruled as regent after his wife's death until one of his son's was old enough to take the crown. Grandfather to X,Rock, and Roll

Blues- Eldest son of Dr Light. He was a very powerful mage, but suffered from a birth-defect that made most usage of his magic too much of a strain for his heart to handle. There was (at the time) an experimental surgery that might fix the problem but it was extremely risky with a 25% potential for death and only had a 40% success rate, the other 35% of patients completely lost their magic.
Blues wanted to try his luck and have the surgery while Dr. Light was against it. This caused a lot of tension between them and loads of fighting.
Just after Blues turned 18 and the day before his coronation as crown prince, he disappeared in the middle of the night leaving only a letter explaining that he was abdicating his right to the crown in favor of his younger brother and going off to explore the world. For the first couple of years he would sporadically send letters to the castle but after a while they stopped coming, and after several failed searches he was presumed dead due to his illness.

Trigger-Youngest son of Dr. Light and father of X, Rock, and Roll. He and Blues were very close as children, and he felt extremely hurt by Blues' departure. Even thought most of the letters Blues wrote were addressed to him it did little to soothe the sense of betrayal Trigger felt, and he never responded to any of Blues' letters. So of course when Blues went missing Trigger felt guilty about never writing his brother and started to blame himself for what happened despite the fact there was nothing he could have done to change anything. Trigger would happily give up his crown if it meant he could have his older brother back.
While not the best at politics Trigger is a decent enough king and well liked by his people. He's has little magical ability to speak of and is better at military strategy than anything else, which has been a good thing due to the fighting along the border with the demon kingdom.

random thing - I never realized before now how much megaman trigger looks like a dragon quest character. Like he'd fit right in with a line up of the dq protags and wouldn't look at all out of place. just saying.

the Light family just can't catch a break, not in canon, or in head-canons

I'm glad to see more of this!

Interesting how you managed to bring Trigger into this, as well as Blues -- especially with how you tied Blues's canon backstory into this. Still looking forward to seeing more~.

Thanks! I'm really happy that you like this

Honestly I think Trigger is a really fun character and there needs to be more stuff where he interacts with the other megaman series. Like you see the classic and x series crossing over all the time as well as with the zero and zx series, but the legend series always seems to be kept in it's own little corner even though it canonically comes after those 4. Idk, I just wanted to use Trigger and thought he fit in the role of the king and X's dad the best.

Also you can't have Blues without his backstory, even if I kinda had to turned it on it's head to make it fit.

Yes, there definitely needs to be more of Trigger in the Mega Man crossovers. The other four are pretty easy to crossover, but Legends is a little more complicated, which is probably why there isn't much material on it. But I mean... it's still entirely possible, and I like how you did it here~.

Indeed, but that's how it always happens when someone redesigns Blues's backstory.

I mean I get why people don't use Trigger in crossovers, with the legends series being so far down the time line but... Megaman 2 for the game boy has actual time travel in it so there's an actual canon way to make any of the series interact. I just wish more people would use it, think of all the time shenanigans one could mess around with

As for Blues' backstory, you're right that most people give him some sort of heart problem in human aus. (tbh. that part is just me following the trend most other megaman fanfic authors follow) What I was referring was how Blues wants the surgery and Dr Light is the one against it, in canon it's the other way around.

True that. XD; But I mean, yeah... time traveling and world-hopping is canon in Megaman, I love playing around with those myself. XD

Ah, right! That is definitely a change from the usual Blues backstories~.

yes time travel (when handled well) is the best plot point!

Blues' backstory is a classic, but I think swapping Blues' and Dr. Light's positions makes things more interesting.

Of course~

I think so, too! It definitely mixes things up a bit.

what's the fun in making aus. if you can't upset the status-quo?

Exactly! AUs that disrupt the status quo are the best ones~.
