Description
A rather simple drawing in which I wanted to show Grim underneat his armor, that the hexagon is indeed attached to his back, and provides an energy source besides additional functions.
In a way, Grim is a cyborg, albeit only as long as the hexagon is on, since the very nature of the nahual transformation and the design of the hexagon allow it to be detached.

The way the hexagon works is first as an elastic waffer with circuits that Tlayo places on his back at the exact same time he shifts to his night form, the hexagon alters his normal transformation, turning him into an anthropomorphic ahuizotl instead of a shadow creature. While transformed he may assume his alt name "Grimblade".
The hexagon attaches to his back and the transformation places it under his skin, as well as places on his forehead and temples neural sensors that wire the hexagon to his brain in direct communication.
Among other functions the hexagon enhaces all his senses, allows him access data and provides an interface for easier use of certain devices.
To remove the hexagon he just has to place his or someone else's fingertips on at least two of the smaller hexagonal holograms surrounding the hexagon and input straight from his brain a shutdown command. Naturally, his armor tends to have another simplier on the back, that would normally just be a marker that the true hexagon is underneat, but it's also a last ditch defense mechanism that can shoot a short-ranged laser burst... which depletes the hexagon's energy supply so it shuts down... reverting Grim to his non-augmented nahual form.

In this illustration I also wanted to show what his hand looks like without the black glove that always covers it.
And also the gills that allow him to stay underwater for an undefined period of time, through normally there reamain tightly shut and invisible while on land, but underwater these open and take his lungs' role. Here these are shown for purelly demostrative purposes.
