The entire joke from that episode is Robin telling the Titans that he got help from the Ninja Turtles to form the Titans.
Well, that joke is supposed to be the idea that the Ninja Turtles was the inspiration for the original Teen Titans. Even Cyborg makes a joke out of it:
Cyborg: He said 'Booyakasha?' That sounds like my catchphrase.
Beast Boy: No, Cy. Yours is 'Booya...'
Cyborg: ....Kasha
The idea of the Turtles taking the pizza back also makes fun of the 2012 Ninja Turtles seeing how that show is taking inspiration from the original Teen Titans. They even have some of their staff on board. So the entire episode is based of an inspiration, of an inspiration, of an inspiration.
Yeah. It doesn't make scene now, but once you look at the backstory. It brings all the laughs.

Yes, I could see that. In fact, modern TMNT from the 2010s is sorta like the old Teen Titans in a way. It started out as a zany series about a bunch of teenage crime fighters, but as it went on, got more serious, fleshed out the characters and world more, had the heroes having to deal with serious losses and actually menacing villains, having battles that were actually really awesome and badass, and the heroes are very fun-loving but still know when to be serious, and lots more.Β
