I prefer her new designs because it's different from the Sonic style and looks generally more original.

I do prefer their first generation designs, but their Second generation selves are pretty good too.
It's all just a matter of taste, perspective, and opinion.
And Yes, Carol's face is a little..... Off-setting, but I can deal with it.

To be honest, I prefer their first gen design better IMO, they're more Sonic-like than their new gen design.
But that's pretty good.
