Mario still feels down about Iwata's death. And he wanted to be by himself. Once he enter Freddy Fazbear's New Pizzaria, the animatronics noticed his sadness. So the animatronics and some of the visitors came and visited Mario and try to calm him down and know that they are there for him. Even animatronics can have hearts.
Even those not involved with Nintendo feel Mario's pain. No matter the series, show, or animation.

Me: Don't cry, Mario. Yes...It hurts to lose someone, especially a loved one like him, but remember of what he did for us...he did something good and he even granted happiness to us. Live your life as you always do usually, have courage and...although he passed away, he will still be in our hearts. Be strong inside and outside, like Mr. Iwata was a strong man. Even if he is not here, Nintendo and its series, like yours by example, are not over. Indeed...their stories still continue. So please, dear friend...don't give up.
