I very much like several aspects of this picture. Her face, for one, is nicely done; her features are well-placed and not too big or too small (lovin' those lashes), her skin tones are pretty, and her expression is very calm and peaceful. However, her hair is puzzling me a bit. The colors you used blend together very nicely, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it; it barely follows the contours of her head and flies out everywhere to fill the page. Next time, I would suggest using more detail for the waves in her hair, and actually following those waves with your colored pencils; also, try using more light and shadow. Mind you, it doesn't have to be a stark contrast; however, it will be more than what you have now, and will make the hair more realistic instead of flat. Good luck! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Big Grin)"/>

I really like this one, her "jewellery"-style is very intriguing I like the calm expression and how her hair fills the frame but the colouring itself seems a bit sloppy and rushed, I think you could've done a bit more with that, considering her hair in particular - a more detailed texture would've added more depth to the drawing. still, I like your drawing-style, it's quite developed in itself and easily recognisable

this is very well done, hon..
I love the eyes.. that's my favourite part of this. The way the hair fills the frame is cool too.. makes her the complete image.. nothing to distract. The gears in the hair are a lovely touch, and the goggles, implying she's taking a break from intricate work.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
I'll be sure to check out the books.. thanks for that too.
ps.. check out my renders sometime, if you have the time and inclination.. I'd love to get some feedback from a traditional artist, as I couldn't draw a straight line with a ruler.
Hugs
Tess

As I said, I'm really in love with your lines, they have a little bit of that Tim Burton quality going on. The way her hair just envelops the space is really beautiful. Great work!
