HUGE plothole in 358/2 Days that took me forever to realize.So basically, Xion and Roxas were completely loyal to the Organization, using their Keyblades to collect hearts for them. But Xemnas decides, "Hey! We only need one!", and since having two is bad somehow, he tricks them into fighting to the death.

You got a point there, ToasterToastToast! The other members are a bit more sane, while Xemnas was the guy sitting on the tallest tower of his castle shouting "Kingdom Hearts" and not actually being a part of his organization.

Seriously though, he doesn't do anything besides order the other members around until all the other members are dead, then he decides to finally do something.
But yeah, he was pretty insane. Like trying to kill Sora several times even though he's essential to the Organization's plans.

Yeah, I think the Organization would do a lot better if one of the other members decided to step in as the new leader. All Xemnas does is do all that stuff we both described...

Hmm, well, Marluxia and Larxene tried to overthrow the Organization. Shame they didn't succeed, because they probably would have done a better job than Xemnas.

It does make me wonder how why he chose you to voice those characters for him. Is he one of your friends or something?

Nah. I had auditioned for some characters in 14 Days, but he turned me down. So, when he started work on Bored to Sleep, he gave me a list of the male characters that he needed voices for. I auditioned for Eraqus, Stitch, and Braig, and also sent in some samples of my real voice to see if it would fit any character. He gave me the parts of Eraqus and Stitch, and said my voice would be fitting for Zack.
If you want to do voicework for him, just ask and audition.

It was just that only one of them was going to survive anyways, since Xion was absorbing Roxas and he would've disappeared anyways. But in that fight to the death, if Xion died then Roxas would survive and get all his power back. They just both couldn't have survived since they both came from Sora.

I don't see why they both wouldn't have survived, though. Roxas is Sora's Nobody and Xion is a failed clone of Sora.

Did you know that Xemnas is actually Terra merged with Xehanort?
Basically, Sora's been fighting with Terra throughout the games!

Yup, Terra and Master Xehanort fused to make Xehanort, who split into Xemnas and Ansem (Xehanort's Heartless), who fused with Riku. Got all that? 
Also, technically, Sora has been fighting Terra, however, it's not like Terra has any control over the body that is really Xehanort who's really Ansem who's really Xehanort's Heartless who's really...
In Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, though, Sora does get to fight Terra's Lingering Sentient, who attacks him for pretty much no reason.

Because they were both, in a sense, one in the same. If they both existed, then the hearts collected by them wouldn't be used to build Kingdom Hearts. One of them had to destroy the other and gain the other one's abilities in order to actually collect the hearts. It's similar to the concept of emergent properties.

How does that make any sense? If the two of them put together could collect hearts, then why couldn't the two of them separately collect them? And if that's the case, then why did the Organization even send them on heart-collecting missions?

It's the same reason why if you have two tissues that create a heart that pumps blood, but the two tissues themselves can't to that on their own. Xion was an experiment to see if they could create more Nobodies like Roxas, and it worked at first but then Xion began to lose that ability from being around Roxas too long, who was like a giant energy/ability-draining bastard. Then, if you remembered correctly, Roxas began to lose some of his abilities to function as a member of the Organization, so that's why they couldn't have them both around at the same time. Yes, I know that they were together at first, but then after a while they began to lose their abilities, which is why one of them needed to kill the other one and absorb the powers of the other.
I admit, it's very complicated and should have been explained better in the game instead of fans puzzling themselves over it before they just said "F*** it" and blew their brains out.

But still, why did they need to make the one kill the other? Did they seriously think that the survivor would WANT to work for them after being forced to kill their friend?

Because if one did not destroy the other, then hearts would not have been able to be collected for Kingdom Hearts, and plus, the idea was to have Xion kill Roxas because the Organization had control over her. But instead, Roxas killed Xion and absorbed her powers and abandoned the Organization. It didn't have to do with "wants," since Xion was being controlled.
