Such a Beautiful wolf.. His name is Elan and lives at Shy Wolf Sanctuary in FL.EDIT: DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY READ THE DAM NOTES?
I have CLEARLY LISTED that he is a MIXED breed.
I have ALSO stated that his wolf blood content is high enough that he is considered (by the STATE) a legal wolf and is not allowed to be adopted.
As a reminder, this was taken in 2004. I do not remember his otherhalf.

Sorry if the pic is a little blurry. I had to shoot though a chain gate with a very quick moving wolf. He was not an easy capture.

Lol at people who don't get how color genetics work... Looking at his body features he def looks to be at least in the mid content range to me! Do you have any clue what sort of dog he may be mixed with? Found his image on pintrest as a "rottweiler x wolf" mix while searching for tan point german shepherd x wolf mixes on google, so a bit curious! I tried checking the link first but it wouldn't pull anything up, might have been my college's wifi though, it can be janky kek.Β

Could possibly be doberman too i think, since they too have similar markings and coloration, also his face seems rather "thin" like a doberman but I can't deny that the rottweiler and doberman both have the Black & Red/Rust color.
(Speaking as a student with some knowledge of breeds, colors and genetics when it comes to dogs/wolves)

It's funny how people try to pin down his wolfblood percentage based on his colouration.
The physical features matter far more than the colouration. I'm pretty sure this boy, based on what i see from the anatomy, is very well in the Mid Content range.

His markings are too distinct to be high content. Id say this guy is more of a high mid content wolf dog. Of corse, its hard to pheno from one photo, but i seriously doubt this guy is a high content due to the distinct markings on him.Β

Too bad he can't be adopted. I'd take him in a heart beat. Now a funny story I had a rot/chocolate lab mix she got out one night and disappeared for a couple of days. Well to make it short she must have bred with a timber wolf, very cute puppies.
