Description
Inspired by two sources: the fantastic and dreamlike watercolor art of Yoshitaka Amano, and the thick, dark, heart-breaking mind-trip of an FFIX fanfiction known as "Go Not Gently", by Guardian. Eiko Carol, from the game Final Fantasy IX, drawn as a young adult in my best approximation of Amano's style. The Eraser tool set to 30% is my new darling...(Sketched in pencil, inked with tracing paper and Micron pens, scanned and colored in Paint Shop Pro 9.)

Actually, Amano's art (the inspiration for the design) was, in turn, inspired largely by Japanese woodblock prints and brush paintings. So you're right on the money.

I'm already on chapter 11, and i love it so much i can't stop reading it. I've already begun to accept it as the official epilogue to the FF9 storyline. Thanks for being the window of introduction for me!

Heh, it's been a long time since I drew it, but I think I just colored it with a plain brush and then erased over the color with a low-opacity eraser until it looked watercolory...
