i like this a lot. i don't get why the others were complaining the background took away from the pic. i think it makes him stand out more. apparently these guys need their eyes checked. lol

I don't understand how everyone else doesn't, but I'll give you a hint:
Try it in Greyscale. That would make it stick out less, maybe even a sepia tone.

Actually I did that with a piece ( "A Clean, well-lit place" - I didn't want to draw the whole background). In this case - and BTW your drawing is excellent - it almost seems that the background is sharper than your foreground. What if applied a gaussian blur and played with some effects on the background? If nothing else it'll let it fade into the distance a bit, and let Jyuushiro stand out more.
