The Fleischer Superman cartoons are animation gems. I own the complete set on DVD.

i remember that Cartoon, I didn't like it cause it have any of Superman's real foes like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Darkseid, Metallo, General Zod, Ect.

Well, there is a good reason for The Max Fleischer cartoons not having any of those villains. They were made in the 40's. A lot of those villains were not yet created. Lex Luthor was around but Brainiac was not created until 1958. Metallo was created in 1959. General Zod was created in 1961. And Darkseid was created in 1971. You can't fault the show for not having characters that weren't even around yet.

Then they should have used Lex Luthor in that Cartoon since it was made the same 40's era.

Agreed. I would have liked to have seen Lex Luthor But, the series already had a few mad scientists. Adding Lex Luthor would have been redundant.

But none of them can top Luthor's IQ level.

True. But, the episodes where only 10 minuets long. They would not have time to show a complex plan worthy of Luthor's genius.

And they call themselves Superman fans by not putting in one of Superman's greatest human foes in that cartoon. What a Joke!

It does not bother me at all that he is not there. I don't need to see luthor in a Superman story for it to be good. There are a ton of Smallville episodes without Luthor that are great. In fact, I'm tired of Luthor being in every Superman movie. I hope this new movie does not have him. The Max Fleischer episodes are still good. They are fun little adventures. And the animation is amazing for the time. You can tell that Batman the animated series was inspired by it. There is one mad scientist in the series who is balding and they never give his name. It's possible that he was suppose to have been a younger Luthor.

Nice job.

At least they still made a few more Supes episodes when the Fleischers' place was overhauled into Famous Studios.

You're welcome.

Don't forget, Showdown was the first episode attributed on screen to Famous Studios though Famous produced Japoteurs uncredited while in the middle of the overhaul by Paramount.

Great work. Brings back memories.

As a kid (around 5), Max Fleischer's Superman was the first I came across...I still have the old cartoons made under Fleischer Studios on VHS and watch them when I'm feeling nostalgic.
