Last week's assignment for Shanth's comic class. The week before we had chosen a story and made color keys from particular moments. This week we had to choose one of those and make it into a full scene, in the same format. Anyway this is a moment out of arthur's early life, him coming across the sword in the stone. I'm pretty pleased with these, obviously there's a lot I would change but I think they came out alright for what they were.This week is our FINAL! oh LORD how did that happen?! Anyway send me your good luck vibes, I'm gonna need them!
watercolor and gouache, 2-4 hours each, depending. each is 3 by 6 inches.

This is lovely, and the atmosphere is amazing. It makes me kind of sad... But still it looks beautiful. I love the lighting, ans the angles the pictures are drawn from.

Wow. These are excellent! Bottom left is my favorite, hands down. Although there seems to be something really nice happening in each one of these. Your quality of light here is really beautiful!

the scene of the houses reminds me of the snowy cities in the Elder Scrolls game Oblivion. Mm, good times.

Beautiful. The last panel felt kind of cinematic to me. Like if this were a film, the camera would climb up the length of the sword and you'd get a glimpse of Arthur looking on in the background.
The angle of the last panel is not the obvious choice, I don't think. I would almost expect a full length shot of the sword for emphasis, but I think this is a more aesthetic, cinematic (yes I'll use that word again) choice and of course emphasizes that the sword is embedded in STONE.

actually, that's kind of a good thing. Not that you're sad, but that it communicated. this takes place when Arthur is squire for sir Kay, and he neglects to get his sword before an event, and he can't get into their house to get it. So it really sucks for him.
