Of course Esperanza is Spanish for hope so we have Esperanza Vivar looking out wistfully at the view of a village she has spent most of her life since she lost her parents and was saved by their maid María who got her away from the violence. Esperanza lives an idyllic life with (auntie) María in this mountain village in a land that has been overwhelmed by a tyrannical cult. Esperanza prays for a time when this evil can and will be defeated, even as she and her guardian try to stay hidden from their sinister agents. Question is, will she get the chance to reach anyone out there and join them in their struggle to restore harmony to the kingdom without being found out? And does she have what it takes to match her parent’s heroics and sacrifice that made them outlawed by their own country?
