I love it. the concept is fantastic.. i like the change in color of the wood. but If there was moreof a difference in the texture that would be great. Cause then itsmore thana pretty table.. It turns into a table that people want to touch and explore... If you do add moretexture to it I wouldnt make it continious. Just like here and there. Adds more interest that way... Just an Idea

I totally know what you mean. I did end up doing the texture all over this one but I like that idea and plan to use it next time. Thanks!!!

That is pretty nice. sometimes I cannot beleive that stuff is layered wood not a huge like solid burl or something.

Yeah like it would have to start out as some weirdo diseased looking root or something.

I know what you mean, before I really learned how to do it I always thought things like this would be solid and I could never figure it out, lol. Thanks!!

I believe it is fine as it is. It's quite a beautiful artifact and would make any room gorgeous simply sitting in a corner.

This is probably the spiffiest piece of furniture I've ever seen! I love the shape, especially how it curves back down to intersect the glass.

This is brilliant. Personally , I love the red, I think it's more the way it plays off the wood tone that makes it awkward. Design wise however you've once again out done yourself, incredible work. Raise my bastard child with me.

Incredible table, has a freaky organic look to it. (freaky in a good way) As for the texture, the shape counteracts the way the texture looks. Overall thats one hell of a nice table

Yeah, I think you have a good idea on what to do with this piece. The red is still a bit distracting to me and I think also the texture might be a little bit heavy where the wood gets thin. As in, I think the cuts are a little bit deep, but that also might be because of the dark red in the cuts.
I think either teh whole thing smooth or the whole thing textured would look best. Personally, I think smooth would be best to match the smooth shiny glass. Maybe a darker stain on the wood if you go all smooth. But all textured is a lot more likely... It's hard to say. I'm also sure it looks a lot different in person too...

Yeah I agree I've gotta get rid of the red, it was an experiment gone wrong. I'm still undecided on what to do to it though. I've seen it all smooth and sanded and I loved the grain patterns in it and the figure of the wood, but it was still just missing something. It was a little too plain. I was also thinking maybe coving out the parts that are carved and making those into smooth grooves that spiral around. I don't know......I've got a lot more starring at it to do lol
