I had found a black and white sketch of the picture on Pintrest and thought it was a very unique pose. I was not aware there was a colored version or that the artist was on deviantart. Thank you for linking

found sketch or completed piece, you shouldn't trace. Referencing is one thing, but tracing is another. (>_>)

I see no complaint from the one you have deemed the 'original artist?  I make fractals and am very honored when a person wants to make a 'dry' form of my fractal for others to color.  I also see no complaint from the artist you believe was the original.  If you like this, ave this...if you don't like it, than don't.  (OR you could download and make this wonderful drawing in your own unique style?

I also see that the original guy, was inspired to reference an art piece by  "alfonse mucha’s"  about 11 years ago...

I hope you are enjoying your retreat/sabbatical. Deviantart is great but it is nice to better in small chunks.
