First RAW-Shot - No edits with Photoshop, I've just used "RawShooter" for some RAW corrections.Please leave just constructive critique here especially about the RAW-Files and how I can improve my skills with them. Please don't say "awesome", "nice", "great", "bad", "i dont like it" or something else, so please be constructive!

so i dont get it did you put the flower there? hahah well i dont know i really like the coloring how the flower just sticks out from the rest of the world. im wondering what is raw pictures? is that a setting on your camera?

yes, it is a special kind of setting. another sepcial and better shooting mode.

another red picture! red is my favorite color..
i'm not really good with editing, but i thought that if you can find a way to somehow make the details of the flower more clearer that would neat. you can sorta see the details when it's not enlarged, but when it is, the flower is kinda blurry. or maybe you wanted it that way?
i really like the clouds in the background!

This is a unique piece. And you really make the rose stand out well. The surroundings are great. The sky might be just a tad hot at some places.

Ok, so I have to get the "wow" part out of my system first... wow, nice shot! 
Now, since you asked for it... For "in the camera" changes; although I really like the lighting the way it is, and since you don't mention it, I'll assume it is all natural lighting, it would have been nice to see a little fill flash to bring up the background stalky/flowery things just a hair, but I like that they are out of focus, so I don't think I would alter depth of field or anything like that, just make them stand out a bit more. Right now they are in that ambiguous area where you're not sure if you are supposed to look at them or not. Using additional light, or even just a piece of white cardboard as a reflector also would have made the red flower pop even more. For digital changes: It would be nice to bring down the contrast on that bright bit in the sky just a hair to help balance the piece a bit more- it's almost so blown out that it detracts from the flower and kinda makes you want a squint a little bit when you look at it ( or maybe that's just me and my monitor

as far as constructive criticism goes, this photograph is beautifully set.. The contrast that strikes the eye from the redness of the flower is unbelievable.. it is awesome *sorry, i know u asked us not to use that*, and the intensity of the color.. simply red, enough said.

i just took my first RAW pics, too. They seem very different than the high-end jpgs, but I'm not sure if it is RAW per se, or my lack of fully knowing what I'm doing with the new camera! As with your shot, which is extremely good, there is a peculiar (cool) texture to my pics. I'm still trying to figure it out. A couple of things are clear, however: 1) Photoshop CS won't open my RAW files 2) they are huge!!! (50MB or so!).

Did you tried already programs like RawShooter for your RAW Files? That should work on a better way, Photoshop seems not to support your Model: [link]

This is a great photogrpah.
I don't know how to be constructive though as I'm not a professional or even an amature photographer >.> The lighting is good and the angle gives it a good sense. ^^ Sorry I can't be of much help!

I think most of it has been said, I also see the odd halo effect around the flower's petals. I think what the problem might be is the oversaturated red.

Thats great. I love the dark sky and the strong contrasts.
One thing maybe is that the flower is a bit too red. So it seems kind of fake. But i see someone has already wrote that.
And the other thing is the powerlines. did you make them blurred or did they get blurred when you took it? It actually gives the picture a effect but you cant really understand what it is lol.
Thats the only thing i feel to point out lol

Very interesting and eye-catching!
I can't believe that is a real flower, - without Photoshop! - it's just so eye-poppingly red! 
I love the cables as I think they give it an extra cool dimension.. it's almost like scene out of a science fiction movie.
The only thing that bothers me is I wish there was a little more space between the left of the flower and the border of the picture.. just a liiiittle bit so you can feel it move to the right of the pic with the cables.. do you know what I mean? lol There's a movement in the image; with more space there you'd feel the 'swish' of the cables past the flower more.

I know you want advanced critique, I cant help you here. I am curious, though, what exactly is RAW processing? I've heard others talk about it but have been completely in the dark. Care to fill me in?

Thats a filetype which saves all the image options and all the pixels.
For me it's very difficult to explain that in English but maybe the site [link] can help you a bit.

I don't know much about RAW, but I am curious as to your technique on this shot... specifically what are the diagonal lines and how does the flower have distinct edges... what was your aperture on this?!

es wirkt zwar sehr unwirklich, aber es lΓ€sst sich gut in das bild hineindenken, vielleicht klingts komisch...aber fΓΌr mich sagte dieses bild auf den ersten blick krieg aus..ich meine nicht das gemetzel...sondern die ganzen lΓΌgen, das *deckmΓ€ntelchen* usw...

i would fav it but i can't figure out what the lines are - power lines? thats a lot of power lines. The flower is perfect - the way it caught the light and its color, i like the dark weed foreground, the clouds came out nicely and their color contrasts great with the bold red of the flower... the angle on the flower was perfect....

Yep, these are power lines. That much because some miles behind the place is a very big power station. These are the main lines!

im not that familiar with this specific type of photography, but the greenery in the back it a little fuzzy, which gives the whole shot a fuzzy look to it. also, theres the lines in the sky...
