Soft pastels... were to start
My first landscape pastel drawing. Does it look good...yeah ...I did use too much colors on the bottom tough so everything started to look muddy, and used fixative spray...too much...the colors got even darker.
The worst problem with pastels is dust! I hate it so much. Everywhere is just a mess...mess...mess. I don't like to get the pigment everywhere and smear it on every possible surface.
It takes some time to get used to it, it's not my normal playground so I feel lost. The border of the drawing is the actual paper I used. It's a light pink / apricot color.
The first time I had tried pastels was over a year ago. I wish I would use them more often, but I get so exhausted and angry after drawing with them. I know...practicing, practicing. But let's start with a nice little nap first ...sounds like a great plan

It's amazing! I wound never have guessed you went through such problems with it. Sometimes exactly when we think we messed it up and it's nonfixable it becomes one of our best works. And this artowork is incredible, such simplicity and soft emotional colours!

well...you have an idea in your head of how you should make something and how it should look...and when this ideas aren't in line with reality you feel...strange
You expect this and get that
I couldn't believe the positive reactions I got for this artworks. And there are times when I expect lots of comments, favs and so on...and nothing happens...viewers are so unpredictable and full of surprises
I watched some tutorials on YouTube and they make it look so easy and the colors are vibrant they all stick on paper and overlap with each other (the white pops out, by me it melt with other colors and gets muddy)...I didn't feel that "it's so easy"
Every time I watch one of her drawings (portraits with soft pastel) I want to cry it's so beautiful

May I take a moment of your time?
You see... I had the featured folder created for me to show off our awesome group, by our founder. It was OK... but I wanted more.... Therefore, after negotiations, The Founder agreed to allow the BEST of the BEST Folder.
So what's the difference?
I have free reign in both folders, with the Featured Folder as many as I want... and the BEST of the BEST limited to only 20 per month, which will be posted on the first Friday of each month.
Nothing like extreme competition, especially against yourself.
