This is great Although, even if you're aiming for a "loose style" I think the wolf's eyes could go better with a little bit more definition. Just the eyes. But that is just me It is great either way

Ultra cool expression! Durotan is loose in a good way but I don't know why, that wolf pelt seems more like unfinished than loose on purpose! Stil love it! Β

I was aiming for that loose style like it is on the wolf, the face became kinda different thanks !

Well, I think you'll do good in both styles. Wish I could do 2D graphic like you! Β

You're too kind, well I probably couldn't do such cool drawings with color pencils like you though

You know, I think that traditional ways loose the meaning nowadays I'm trying really hard (okay, I've started today ) to learn stuff with Photoshop CC but it's so uncomfortable..paper is sure thing but this is not! so I really admire your ability to express his pissed off mood Β

Yeah I kinda see your point, digital paintings get more and more popular, I was just about to ask if you tried drawing digitally
Having a graphic tablet certainly makes it a whole lot easier, just like everything it takes some practice and time to get used to it You should post your results if you're happy with them

Now I'm working on one picture, maybe you could give a criticism about it when it's finished if you'd like to, I think I'll be interested in your opinions! Β
I own small wacom, and I'm glad. I can't even imagine doing everything with a mouse! Β

Sure, I'd love to take a look at it when it's finished
I've been using mine for about 4 years or so, I'm also really glad I bought it! I actually used to draw with a mouse before that Crazy times!

It's true that it makes everything more comfortable and acceptable with tablet! I think I just need practice with those brushes. It's really frustrating, I know what I'm able to create on paper and it makes me crazy when I see how much worse it is in digital way! Β

Totally, in the beginning it is really a challenge to get used to it! In most situations, the basic hard round brush really does the trick. There are some cool brushes online though that I sometimes like to use. In some situations you might wanna scan in your sketches on paper and work from that base.

I did this, I'm working on kinda dystopic rabbit right now, I just need to color it now! Β

Β I think that sketch is good yet, but that coloring is really hard for me How long did you do Durotan's skin and how many shades have you used, may I ask? Β

Cool linework Really has the post-apocalyptic thing going on.
I'm not sure how long the coloring took me, but it takes quite a while, I think like 2 or 3 hours ? I never really look at the time

So I sometimes do it in 2 different ways, just straight up starting in color and then blocking in the shapes with other colors or the eraser,Β or like you I start with the linework and then add color.
The way I do it I start with a new layer underneath the linework and then add colors, that way it's non-destructive to your linework.Β
I just keep on adding shadows and lighting to make it more and more rendered and kinda repeat that process until I'm happy with it.

When you click ( in Photoshop at least ) in the layers window at "Lock transparent pixels", you have all the pixels in your layer selected, so only your thing that's already on the layer gets affected when you paint in that layer.
That's good when you want to color the linework and don't want to paint over the borders!

2 or 3 hours? That's really short time!Β
(no, I'm used to draw at least 6 usually)Β

Okay, I'll remember this thank you so much for your advices!Β
