i am interested with this piece... how did you decide the lighting? it seems to come from no where... (these are questions)

also did you use the standard grid/vanishing point perspective drawing to plot this out?

im just wondering because im doing very much the same thing in my cartooning class, and am looking for examples of perspective drawing...

more specifically, perspective drawing WITHOUT the use of VP grid lines etc...
