I actually spent an afternoon watching the dredging on a webcam aimed at the cruise terminals!

Cool...do you have the web address?

And, not to make too much of it, but did you spend a WHOLE afternoon watching it? Your job must be as bad as mine!

Thank you for the kind words. The sky was the reason I took the shot, it was so "expressive".

Unfortunately, it was also difficult to get "right" in the processing. I ended up using the Topaz Adjust filter ( a $60.00 plug-in) to get it right.

And yes, the skies in Florida are so expansive. I keep saying I'm going to go to the beach with the next stormy afternoon and just shoot the growing storms...but so far it's just been talk.

I'll try to do more...landscapes are not my strong suit, but I'm working on getting better.

Well, it does do that sometimes...but then, as you may remember, there are days when the whole area is covered in storms. This afternoon is one of those afternoons.

Plus, even if it was sunny on the other side of the street, it's raining waaaaaayyyyy too hard to venture out to cross the street.

Ahhh....my family lived in Ohio in 73...and moved back to the Buffalo, NY that same year (my dad had been transferred to Dayton for 3 or 4 years)...so we missed those hurricanes.

My wife and I moved to Orlando in 1996, so we were fortunate enough to have experienced the year when 4 hurricanes rolled over us in the space of a month and a half...joy, joy!

Actually, in a way, it WAS pretty cool...not the destruction and pain it caused so many folks, but the power and beauty of the storms was amazing in its own way. And our home was built to handle CAT 5 winds, so the CAT 2, 3, and 4 winds did little damage to our place.

Yeah. We were lucky with the ones that hit here. No deaths in pour area (that I recall), although 7 or 8 folks dies on the West Coast of the State during one of them.

I don't know about that, but depending on whether the storm tracks into the Gulf or up the Atlantic really determines which side gets hit worst.
