Reminds me very much of the myth of Hades and Persephone- I especially love the balance created by the staircase- it may be that we just can't see to from this angle but the two atmospheres look completely separated. I love it!

For some reason, my attention is really drawn to the shadows.
The female's shadow looks like someone struggling to get up while there's a hand just out of reach of helping, but a barrier is in the way. The male's shadow has wing-like features.
I'm praying I'm not the only one thinking this
