After the seccond world war, project of the Chrysler Corporation, developed in the summer of 1946. The vehicle featured many design solutions radically different from typical American tank technology. Specifically, according to the plan, the Chrysler K has the powertrain and engine placed in the front, while the combat compartment is located at the rear of the body. The entire crew was seated in the turret. This is probably the first American project to place the driver in the turret. to replace the M6 heavy tank.
