another classical portrait.i like the outcome of this one, especially since i drew only 2,5 to 3 hours on that. It´s not to detailed, but that´s ok, i suppose.
materials i used: pencils and a "mars lumograph" (for the black blacks!)

there arn't many highdefinition picturers of james dean are there (with obvoius reasons!).
i'm familiar with this series of photos, the grittiness, and high contrast really holds the feel of the era and reminds you that he's cemented his place in history from one image. congrats for keeping with that.

I really like the rougher, "chunky" look of this (does that make sense?) He certainly is PERFECT for that style. A smooth rendition, like the Marilyn, wouldn't have suited him as well. This is so good, I must fav it!

FANTASTIC detail... it's very simple in the black and white but you still showed the rugged looks and the perpetually tired feeling he emits in photographs. You captured him very well (and if this was a Print I'd buy it

Ooooo yes please do let me know ^__^ Oh this little faq helped me out a LOT with print size info: [link] that's the correllation between the pixel size of a pic and the print size (ie. 1:50:1)
