Interesting scene with little context but nice atmosphere that leaves a lot to the imagination. The details on the tiles are unusual and pretty cool. The shading is excellent.
The kid's design is very cute, with her thick bobcut, wide cute eyes, stripy stockings, and artsy trim of her robe, but she looks very sad, and it is unclear why. She is holding a book closely in her hand and some shadowy figure is in the background. Is she bullied? Did she just find out some terrible secret, and is holding on to the book so that she can prove it? It might explain why there are some books on the floor - she might have been in a rush. Is the figure in the background involved somehow?
Atmospheric and beautiful, but sad, picture. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for this super comment!
In fact, this is the moment from the text role-playing game, where the friends of this girl were trapped in this book and had to live the stories recorded in it.
The young man, whose figure you can see in the background, tried to burn the book, and the girl snatched it and hid from it among the bookshelves.

Super-cool story idea, and now the poor girl's expression is 110% understandable. I'd probably react the same in her situation.
Nice to also meet a fellow role-playing game fan - the kind of role-playing games I play are the ones with dice, pen, and paper, though. I have thought of joining some forums for text role-playing/play by post someday.
Come to think of it, I remember a show where the heroes were trapped in a magical painting.
Is the young man-villain in the background anyplace else in the gallery? He must have some interesting goals in life...

In general, he does not have any far-reaching goals.
He is one of those people who love his life and wants everything
in it to remain unchanged. But unfortunately, nothing can last forever.
I have several more drawings with him in the gallery, for example, here:

Oh, that is interesting! Some of the most compelling and memorable villains belong to that type.
Villains who want to keep things as they are could be seeking immortality, or trying to bring a lost love back from the dead, for example, or stay in power.
Or is it that he had great power before, but lost it, and wants it back to keep it forever? Am I close with any of these guesses?
All of the pictures you brought forth are nice ones; I love rich patterns in art, the architecture is grand, and that the villain's face is kept in shadow gives him a properly mysterious feel!!

Perhaps the closest thing you mentioned is "to stay in power"
This young man is the caretaker of the school of dark magic. And he intends to maintain the authority of the school, punish violators, eliminate all possible causes of unrest, as well as keep secrets hidden in the school, not allowing suspicious incidents to become known to the students. And he is really devoted to his work.
I'm very glad that you liked the pictures)
