I've always seen Ichiruki merely as platonic or sibling-like. But both Ichihime and Ichiruki are cute even though I don't ship either.

I went into Bleach expecting IchiRuki, because that was all I ever heard from others who talked about the series. I waited and waited and waited, expecting to see some epic romance between Ichigo and Rukia and never once saw it. What I did see where two things I'd never heard about from my friends.
1. A mindblowingly epic FRIENDSHIP between Ichigo and Rukia. Those two have a great relationship together, but it always felt incredibly platonic for me. Which is totally fine. We need more friendships like this in stories.
2. A moving and dedicated LOVE from Orihime to Ichigo. I originally didn't see it between them, as I was so focused on trying to spot the IchiRuki I'd been told about, but once I stopped looking for IchiRuki and just explored the story of Bleach itself, I saw a heartwarming love and dedication from Orihime to Ichigo. And then I saw the final fight with Grimmjow and Ichigo's behavior there convinced me he and Orihime had a lot of potential as a couple. He always treats Orihime with kindness and respect, unlike his other friends. And I went back through Bleach and continued on through to the current point of Bleach and I'm sold on IchiHime.
People are perfectly entitled to their opinions. You ship IchiRuki? Fine by me, and I totally respect that. I just happen to ship IchiHime, and I'd like to think that others respect my view too.

Both pairings are kinda absurd. Ichigo isn't into girls at all. Or, at least before that stupid and unnecessary time-jump.
And with Ichigo not being into girls I'm NOT saying he's gay or anything. Just, seemingly, not especially interested. And, honestly, he has definitely other, more important things on his mind.
Although, in my opinion, IchiRuki is (a tiny little bit) preferable because canon-Rukia isn't as annoying as Canon-Orihime with her "Kurosaki-kun". Possesion-Sue-Rukia from most fanfictions, however... Ugh.

Right, she's saying that too much - just that Byukuya isn't around all the time and therefore we don't have to hear it that much. Rukia also uses the word "baka" and variations too much, if we go that way...
but she's not like "Nii-sama, Nii-sama, please help me, Nii-sama" x 10 all the time. :/ 'kay, neither is Inoue, but she is doing it more.

I see... yeah. I don't have a favorite character nor least favorite. Some characters, I poke fun of their flaws, others, not really. For example, I poke fun on a lot of main characters in shonen anime for being romantically retarded (Ex. Goku: Krillin. What's a bride?). XD Except a few who have a crush on a character (ex Yugi's crush for Anzu).
