I've always loved Iron Man as a character, so I thought I'd have a crack at a take on the classic storyline in the modern armour styles as a cover/pin up.

I love Adi Granov's armour designs, so this is a combo of the Extremis and movie armours - with my own twist thrown in there as well. Started as a sketch in my sketchbook but then when I got home from holiday (did the prelims on the beach with my feet in the sea lol) I transfered it to a board and finished it. I tried to portray narrative and backstory in what is effectively a single panel, so there are the various different elements of Stark's life/friends that are affected by his alcoholism represented. There were some absolute nightmare areas to draw, but I'm pretty pleased with how it's come together in the end - and as ever I've learnt a lot in the process.

I might ink this, although I hate inking my own work so if anyone fancies having a go at it, PM me and I'll email you a hi-res version I don't know if it's tidy enough to go straight to colours though...
