Description Day 11 of #MaySketchaDay

Steady as she goes, 1/3 of the way there already. I enjoyed this one!
I'm hoping to put all these up on Gumroad as PSDs at the end of the month, let me know if that's something you'd be interested in!

I just love this style so much. I wish it could be brought to life.

Thanks very much! Brought to life how? I've been playing with videogame prototypes every now and then ...

The reason I like making environment art for video games so much, especially trees, water, and grass, dust, clouds, etc., is because it brings life to what is otherwise a static image from concept usually. And while images have the power to create stories inside a person's mind and evoke emotions all on their own, video games offer a medium in which a person (player) takes agency, able to view and interact with the world before them in their own way. This interactivity and play is just very unique to the medium, and your art makes me want to explore and learn more, piecing together a story.

I think how that happens is because your images invoke an almost dream-like feeling, where details are kind of hazy but there's enough there that your mind fills in the rest. That's very important I think, because rather than just consuming, part of your art takes place inside a person's mind. Same sort of thing happens with great games like Chess or Portal. Chess isn't a great looking game but it almost entirely takes place inside a player's mind.

It's sort of like a seed you can plant in someone's mind with art, music, writing, or video games. It grows and becomes a part of the person.

But anyhow! I've never seen a game with an art style like yours, and that would be a fun challenge to replicate in a 3D environment.

I'd also love to hear more about your videogame prototypes!

That was an absolutely beautiful comment. It's fun hearing other people being this passionate about art.
