Hey there,i drew Paul again....
and i would like to ask for your opinion.watercolor (yeah i tried it again
) and pastelpencil?I drew the same picture with two techniques.
so i can't really decide which one is better?
this one or the pasteldrawing: ???

I think the other one has more details, but this version is definitely deeper and better. I really like the shadows. Looks awesome!

Oh hello again there gorgeous! For some reason i think i like this one...SLIGHTLY better then the other one but only slightly! In the other one you bring out his eyes more! But i enjoy the color of this one. Then again...gahh its hard to choose cuz both are perfect, and you excel in both me mediums/media.

HAHAH i find it hard to choose between my work. I know how you feel. It would be hard for me to choose too if i could produce art like you do! And yes they do! they stand as their own piece of work!

Das Bild schaut fantastisch aus, die Farben harmonieren super zusammen
ich mag beide Versionen, das andere ist wärmer und wirkt dadurch weicher, die Aquarellfarben hier geben dem Gesicht klare Konturen und ich mag die Farben
Ich hätte da auch gleich mal eine Frage: zeichnest und malst du die Bilder mit Raster oder frei Hand?

Gerade weil ich echt schwerigkeiten mit Aquarelmalerei hatte
Zu deiner Frage:
Das ist mal so und mal so...
Oft benutze ich Raster, manchmal auch nur ausgemessene
pregnante Punkte oder wenn ich jemanden seeeehr oft gemalt hab und die Gesichtszüge auswendig kenne, dann gehts auch mal frei hand. Aber das eher selten
Wenn auf youtubesuche mal eingibst "how to draw a face"
wirst dich umschauen wie toll das geht und das man das lernen kann.

PS: ich male am liebsten mit Bleistiften.
Früher war es mal Öl und mit Aquarell hab ich
überhaupt angefangen, aber ich mag es einfach auch wenn Farben leuchten und besser decken.
für besondere Anlässe oder Effekte ist aquarell aber wirklich schön.
und es gibt hier auf DA eineige Künstler die das bis zum äussersten perfektioniert haben

yeah i've tried to come up with an unusual color-scheme.
I think it turned out good, but still i like the pasteldrawing
of the same picture a little more

This is beautiful! For a more artsy, whimsical, fine arts look--this is the one to go for. It has a cool, airy, creative arts feel because of the cool colors used for shading. And his eyebrows go up a tad bit, making his expression a hint different.
Both pieces are amazing and each bringing a different atmosphere.

I like both versions in different ways, but since I love watercolour I might have a slight preference for this one. 
I think the background in the pastel version is lovely though - have you ever tried to mix the two media? I would love to see that some day!
