Great movement in the composition! The seperation of the swirls with the brick shapes really brings in a sense of pattern and repetition which gives it even more movement i think. This is a wonderul piece and my favorite of yours which I've seen.

the only critique i have is maybe making the background a different color. white might work, but it'd overpower the brightness of the ribbons.

Celebration, indeed! I love the happy ribbons of colors; it does make one think of a party. The bursts of light here and there are a really nice touch.
