Thank you. A 20" X 30" canvas of this rests on the mantle of my fireplace. Of all my work, this is the best looking on canvas.

Nice. Did you use a printer in your local area or go through an online service? I have been thinking about having some giclee prints made but can't find anything local.

TomWilcox In reply to cabbie666 [2006-05-10 11:51:15 +0000 UTC]

Why local? I ordered 10 canvas pieces - mostly 24x36. Came wrapped over a wood frame ready to hang. our price: 20x30 = $85.00, 24 x 36 = $105.00. All 10 cost under $10.00 to ship (not sure why it was so cheap - mistake?).

Hi Tom,
I hope you do not mind I dropped in to check out your gallery.
I am glad that I did because I got to see your latest work that has the perfect title to match.
You just keep getting better and better. I hope to see your work in an Art History book soon because you keep pushing the edge of the limit with your work. I would not want to insult you by saying your name will be known by everyone like Warhol's. I would much rather put you in a higher level and that is with Ansel Adams and Georgia O'keefe. As usual you will blush and just say thank you like -- Oh, I am not all that good. This quality of being humble is what makes you great. You never cease to amaze me and to tell you the truth I cannot get enough of your work.
This one is perfect in so many ways. I can see the underlying symbolism. You have masterfully woven into the multi-layers of the cross. What is also fun to see is your usage of the season's color palette. Well done as usual. The green stands bold as your foundation and then slides behind the red and blue in the very if not close to the center as you can be. Then the red comes into play and creates some nice illusions besides the shapes it forms with its lines. The blue just sort of floats and is some what mystical in a way.
BRAVO once again. You did and it met the reason for what we just celebrated perfectly.
As you can see -- that when I look at your work it truly inspires me to spill forth all things I think you want me to notice and go in deeper where you and myself communicate.
Here's a good one for you -- why don't you have me right up a review for you sometime? Is this not funny? I am cracking up over a statement like this & I hope you are laughing also.
Thanks for feeding my heart -- and more importantly -- my soul.
&
Nancy/Jett

Hi Nancy,

So you noticed that I used Christmas colors. you are the only one that caught that or at least commented I think.

Thanks for your comments.

Hey Tom,
What can I say -- I cannot help it people really do not go into a piece when they see it.
They do not seem to understand what critiqueing is all about and making comments on a work in more indepth manner.
I was ready to bring up alot of art this past week -- I had it stored and ready to bring up. I got hit with a Trojan once again and lost all of it. Thank God I do have those illustrations and 2 8x10 B&W photos of me standing between two walls that were in this one gallery. They had invited me to come in and do what i did bst and that was doing sculptures using tension and compression. I went in and used their two walls for displaying art on that were actually hanging by strong hooks. I took one look at those walls and made a huge installation piece. It was really good. A friend of mine who was a photographer went with me so he could see me do what i had planned. I did not know he took the picks until later. I have a lot of slides on my work in my favorite area that will be coming up later.
Tom, I have over 30 years of work to dump up here and it is going to shock a lot of people. I am what is called an artist because I can work in almost any traditional media and pull off some really good stuff.
Now do to my illness I do color drawings with prismacolor pencils on Archers watercolor paper. I hope you will like them.
Today i plan on trying to get my first ever work done with a PC. All I have is Microsoft Draw 1.01. It is perfect for me because of me being a minimalist & know how to pull off some interesting things in color. They are in a scrap format and I pray I can move them up today.
I want you to do a favor for me if you can -- I want you to be tough on me and critigue the the scraps tht i was playing around in. I had to recreate one tht was done on Christmas Eve. Then i found I had downloaded the original one that was on Microsoft Word Processor. I figured out how to push them back into sraps to try and get them up there.
I did two that were a pure take off of Ellswoth Kelly and how he used the dynamics of color to kick butt. I hope you will like them too.
I cannot wait to get a true critique from you.
Being that I have no work up here yet and i keep seeming to be the onlyone moving around up here in DA Land that does any critiquing I changed my title to critic. Can you believe me doing that one. We all love and hate critics when we make our babies and now I am one for the time being.
ihave people coming to me to critique their work. I have been asked by a few people if they can use my comments for describing their work. This is the strangest one yet -- I have been asked to write up a review for this one artist when they set up their website. Can you believe that one? I do not get it -- why can all these artists in DA Land not able to make comments at the level I do? I do not get it.
I am actually beginning to feel that you and myself understand intent and what we are all about. When we know this we can then go to a piece of work by someone else and make good constructive comments. I will not go in and do any destructive kind. If I cannot find a work that i can comment on I will move past it and go to one I can.
Tell me the truth -- do you think I am a little strange? I just do not get it. How can people look at your Christmas piece and not notice the colors related to the season? You stated in your comment -- in so many words -- I wish you a Merry Christmas. Then on top of this the cross is the symbol for we Christians. Your work was a pure Christmas Work that was Merry but still was Tom making good fractal pieces.
I need an artist that I can discuss all these kind of things with and the only one I would like to do this with is you. Let me know if you want to discuss concepts and the whole enchilada?
Thanks for letting me see great art that is made with a ton of thought, skill & yes still is humble. I truly admire you.
Take care -- Nancy

I have been saving this for a special reply but just want to say thank you very much. I have had my entire system crash and needed to buy a new main computer. Have spent a lot of time and frustration sorting it all out.

Hi Tom,
I am so sorry to hear about your system. I can relate on a smaller level than you. i had a bunch of stuff ready to bring up to my gallery finally and lost it overnight to a Trojan. I had the best protection I thought and did things very carefully but I still got hit.
I needed new hard drives and then Hp sent it back to me saying it was fixed and the Mother Board now needs to be replaced. Why they did not do it when it was in for repair I do not know.
I hope you will be back up and running at top speed again soon.
I wish there was something I can do to help. I guess my nightly prayers for my friends in DA Land will just have to do.
You may want to look at my gallery I am slowly building a 30 year Self Retrospective.
God Bless You My Friend.

Hi,
I am glad you are up.
I am fighting with HP regarding that each time they seen my PC back it comes back with problems it did not have before and the original ones are still not fixed.
You do not have to bother with my gallery right now. I am getting slides developed of full installations that were done in the 1970's. I am trying to bring up a body of work to show how an artist grows but is still involved with some concepts that will continue to be the basis for our work.
I am sorry I go into things with such detail. I will stop.
Take care.
