I was going to put the top of the tail up through the surf, shark like, but in sketches it didn't work.

Exaggerating the tail like you did was actually perfect - the huge tail is such a telltale feature of that aircraft, it's perfect to accentuate that element! A dorsal fin would distract from that silhouette.

Didn't even read the title and I was saying to myself "is that like one of those tornado jets from the RAF?" XD. Really nicely captured, I think the main fin really does it justice, and as always your machines really seem to come to life with all the sharp and pointy shapes.
