It's been years since I started developing this idea, and I feel like it's a wonder that I've stuck with it for so long. Though I'm still in the preliminary stages here is an addition to what I posted previously on my blog: [link]In this post, I wanted to share the phases that happened in the visual development for Xanh, the main protagonist for Rune (c) me. (I won't take these down this time!)

i like where you're going with the proportions. If I would adjust anything it would be to simplify the coloring and probably focus on the lineweights (at least on this particular picture). I image the line weight should be thicker and more stylized overall.
Even though his neck area is covered up, I still think his collar bone should still show through on his left side (where he's wearing black). just a hint of it.
One more thought... I'm not sure what kind of fighter he is... if he specializes more with punches or kicks then his hands/or feet should be more emphasized. Like if he's more of a fist fighter then his handwraps i think should be more prominent. But overall he looks like a quick agile type of guy so if that's what you're aiming for then you hit it.

You're totally right about simplifying the coloring method, and finding a line technique. I'm still trying to find a style that I can execute fast enough on the fly... I need to draw more!! Thanks for your input, Linda!
