I'm not sure if it would be better with a crop from the bottom - so having fewer rocks. I'd probably get rid of the whole of the largest rock. Make it so the boathouse is indisputably the main focus. But that would bring the boathouse away from the rule of thirds, which is probably where you were aiming? Sometimes though, photos with clear reflections, such as the boathouse, can look good on that half-way line.

Yes, I was composing this with rules of thirds. The top horizontal line is on the middle of the reflections. I also liked the rocks and the warm light that was hit on them.
I never thought the cropping you mentioned, but I'm going to try it, since I thought of doing a HDR version of this.
