Description My Version of the Mystery Inc.
Inspired by a scene in "Family Guy"
My show would have been called "The Scooby Doo Murder Mysteries"

The gang would solve mysteries and be in a horror movie every week.

Unfortunately The CW already has a show like it (A good one as a matter of fact) called "Supernatural"

It would be awesome if you did art trades.

Jag

PS: And though not a Trekkie, I understand your sentiment on the new movie, which I have not seen. I remember seeing an interview with the people who put it together, who seemed to beam with pride that they were NOT Trekkies, yet made the film for non-Trekkies. Couldn't they find someone who either knew or liked the genre, instead of turning everything into some pre-fab formula?

Art Trades?

I guess I am a Trekkie (Not an Extreme One), I'm never going to refer to myself as a Trekker. I like a good story, a moral tale, character study and a good ol' sci-fi adventure.

I was about to go on a tirade on JJ "Star Trek" but I have no desire to blow a gasket. That Movie and the so-called genius' behind it I just want to SMACK the hell out of them as well as the idiots who think this is the greatest Star Trek movie ever.

Each person draws something for someone else. I guess I must have coined the term.

I liked watching episodes of Star Trek The Next Generation, as well as Star Trek VI in the theater, and "Generations." That's about the limit of my Trek-dom. But I sympathize with fans of a show who have to watch in horror as Hollywood chews up and spits out their favorite shows.

Am more of a Scooby fan, and had to watch what happened to both live action movies. But my fan show got off easy. I will say that they did a good job of casting Velma and Shaggy, and movie 2 wasn't too bad. My wife, a Harry Potter fan, actually got to watch those great books turned into great movies. Why can't everyone get that?

Jag

PS: Am an HP fan too.

I've always knew of the term "Trekkie" and "Trekker" Personally I think Trekker sounds stupid. So I'll take Trekkie any day.

I'm irritated with the Hollywood Mentality of everything have some basis in reality. Funny since I go to watch movies to escape reality, NOT WATCH IT!!!! As far as JJ Abrams, the two JACKASS writers of "StarTrek" and Transformers 1 and 2 not to mention Michael Bay just needs to go Away.......FOREVER!!!!

I see Nothing wrong with Harry Potter. It's actually a pretty well put together series. (I prefer that over Twilight any day)

I didn't have a problem with the Scooby Doo movie. I never saw the sequel though.

I despise "the formula." I remember watching a movie, and knew exactly what would happen next.

Don't forget growing up watching a buddy series, or lifelong friends. The movie based upon the TV series must have everyone painfully disagreeing or fighting amongST themselves, only putting aside their differences at the end, and learning to love one another. If the TV series had been such a whiny belly-ache fest, I WOULDN'T HAVE WATCHED IT THE FIRST PLACE!

Sometimes I feel that way with "Smallville" But I blame that on lack luster writing during the middle of Season 5. The 1st 4 years of the show had Clark Kent in High School so I understood him being some what of an angst ridden Teenager.

But from season 5 on instead of embracing his heroic destiny, he is the biggest whinny bitch who only barely acts heroic.

Season 8 started out with him FINALLY embracing his heroic role and stopped acting life a selfish whiner only to regress middle of the season to whiny bitch midway to full blown EMO bitch. It amazes me that this Clark Kent will ever become the Man of Steel. Superman he is not.

But alas I blame that on weak ass writing.

What we are probably seeing is writers writing themselves into stories, rather than writing for the character they are supposed to write about. "Well gee, I'm whiny, I know whiny, so I'll make Superman whiny! Maybe one day, like Superman, I'll kick my whiny behavior!" Or "Gee, my 'friends' and I fight all the time, so I'll make the members of some group (insert Lost In Space, Scooby gang, Fantastic Four, Star Trek group) fight all the time!

It's the inability to write about anything other than oneself and one's environment. Perhaps that's why almost everything in Hollywood sounds the same.

About the only realism I want from a movie is an honest characters (Personality, interactions, reactions ext.) I can overlook the fantastic or absurd if the characters are honest.

Superman as teenager in highschool I am ok with. but Superman as a 20 something whiny selfish Bitch I can't like or relate to.

I hate today's writing sensibilities. Don't get me started on Remakes/Reboots to solve all problems

Which one?

Jaguaro In reply to TonyForever [2009-07-17 19:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Public Enemies. They paid incredible attention to detail on many issues, and rewrote entire timelines and character input to create outright falsehoods. When I tell people what really happened, they say "I wonder why they didn't do the real story in the first place." Especially when the made-up stuff got really convoluted!

I haven't seen the film myself but based on your comments, it's no different from any Hollywood "depiction" of Historical events. Their stupid need to liven things up by making things up that make no sense and convolute everything.

Jaguaro In reply to TonyForever [2009-07-20 02:43:09 +0000 UTC]

I agree. Tell the real story! It's a combination of thinking people are too stupid (when in fact, it is their convoluted retelling that's hard to follow) and that the real story shouldn't matter. How's a teacher supposed to teach something, if a movie says otherwise? Think a teacher has a harder time teaching the Illiad when Troy is out there to change everything? Or worse...The Patriot? Ack. Both were exciting, if they weren't trying to change the story.

I made Daphne look lik Sarah Michelle Gellar from the 1st Scooby Doo Movie. Fred's ascot was a must. I've always had a soft spot for Velma (I think she's hot under that sweater) Shaggy I made a little more Modern and Changing Scooby would have been Wrong
