I have used the model in this pic many times over the years in my photography business. She has also played a very important part in my life in general. We have been friends for around 10 years and she is as powerful emotionally as anyone I know. Her physical appearance is very unique and in this shot perhaps even intimidating in it's appearance of strength.Dependant upon her mood her aura or personality can also be very intimidating. Whilst I trust Stacey and believe that she would do anything for me often I have felt emotionally intimidated by her. However when she is in her comfort zone and relaxed she is one of the most gentle and empowering people I have ever had the pleasure to spend time with.
I think her looks also mirror her moods at times. In this shot to me she looks like a warrior of sorts. Very focassed and determined and strong. At other times she can look so warm and open and the epitamy of empowered and graceful beauty.
Think in society we are so used to judging books by their covers. That we can become very quick to judge a person on appearances especially if the appearance is physically strong or physically beautiful. In my photography career I am continually learning that some of the most beautiful and strongest looking people have emotional power that mirrors their physical. Thus they may appear strong and confident but at times can feel very vulnerable. In these times their physical can be a mask to protect them.

I rarely comment picture on dA but what else can I do, a great shot mixing strength and beauty with a nice angle and beautiful eyes looking. I would love one day to be able to paint/draw such a powerful model and bring it to a more powerful edge by composition and artistic choices

While she does have an amazingly fit physique I get the impression of her strength from her eyes. The angle you shot this at really highlights her expression.

Yes I believe that Stacey's most powerful source is her soul. However like most of us her experiences in life have cast doubt over this source of strength.

I am not sure if you still work with Stacy, but I would guess not often. At least not often enough. The images you have captured are some of the finest of Stacy, and on the flip side those photos are some of your finest. I get a feeling of a somewhat challenging relationship, but I think that chemistry led to some powerful and captivating images. It would be great to see the two of you working together again.

Very perceptive comments.I still have contact with Stacey but have not photographed her for a long time. Most of our work was for my calendars which I do not do anymore. Also my passion is art nude which is something Stacey is not open to doing. Do agree however that my shots of her are amongst my most powerful.You are also right about the challenging nature of the relationship. Whilst we are deeply connected we do look at life from very different perspectives at times.

There is an interesting remove between experience & an image. She's stunningly beautiful, but a photo can't quite capture the experience of a decade long relationship & all the emotion that's gone into it & been gleaned from it.

Her physical appearance is unique? Almost all the girls in ads looks like that (not saying that it's bad, but she is not unique. At least, in this shot). Don't feel intimidate either. I think her pose and the angle make her look like she is appealing us, asking us to watch her and maybe ... more. Her position his very open. Her arms are away, she put both her chest and butt out, she keeps her hair out of her face. She is not looking at us wich gives us the opportunity to look at her body revealed without being intimidate by her.
I'm sorry, it's an interesting picture, but it doesn't reflect what you describe of her. I don't feel her personnality. She just looks like another blonde girl in a bikini. However, she looks like a great model. I'm sure she can bring a lot of energy and personnality if you don't just try to show her body. She has amazing face features that could express so much more.

Appreciate the depth of your response and you could be right with what you suggest. However I disagree with you and believe that there is a definite unique energy and look to Stacey in this shot.Having said this much of what I refer to about intimidation was as much on a personal relationship level than just the shot.

Thats cool. I find it hard sometimes to use words that give my true feeling.I try not to get mad and even if I do then look into why I am getting hurt. Suppose with my art I am so passionate about it that I do get sensitive at times.

I said that because a lot of person would have hate me for my comment (even if it wasn't suppose to be mean at all). I didn't feel you were angry (but I feel you don't agree with me, wich is normal since I critique your art). Our creations are like our baby, I know it's not always easy to take critiques or talk with people who doesn't understand what we did the way we perceive it.

Think that disagreeing is part of communication. If more people were open to communication we would likely have far less conflict and dis agreements in life. This is especially true with creatives. We feel and think deeper than most and can easily not be understood.

When I look at her eyes the rest of her appears buff and super muscular even though she's "just" well toned. Interesting affect or image she can project. Good capture.
