This is so wonderful. Is this reversed? ( NEG) I miss doing darkroom work. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!

Tonyryna In reply to photocrafter [2005-12-21 10:27:35 +0000 UTC]

Hey thanks
Its not inverted/reversed, I use the channel mixer in photoshop to convert my photos to black and white, with that I removed most of the red (autumn leaves) and blues (sky) to leave a lot of white areas yet still retain the dark branches of the tree and the bird's silhouette. No one part of the photo was adjusted independently from the rest, the channel mixer was all i used
The same technique was used on 'Black Velvet' but colorized that with a little blue after converting it to B&W
Playing around with darkroom techniques is certainly fun

The simplicity with the colours, but the intricateness of all the branches work well with each other and the vast area with just that bird sitting alone does create the feeling of loneliness.

Great picture

Hey, thanks. Really like your insight into this, you've practically described my thought process as i made the adjustments to make it B&W
