I like the contrast shown here. Which isn't a surprise since I'm a sucker for juxtaposition. I love how the magic wielded by the two are both appropriate and inappropriate, like you expect a wizard in a desert to wield fire or control sand but perhaps having the ability to create water would be more useful and even essential out in a scorching wasteland or that having a portable heater would be nice to have in a blizzard.
