This one was just awesome... and all it cost you was the time it took to pull over. I'd be using that one for greeting cards! And for my wall!!!

Upstate Michigan, LOL. Amazing what one comes across just taking a ride. Thanks.

I remember telling you before that I would love it up there. If all of upstate Michigan looks like this, would be heaven for me. Most beautiful states are the upper state of the US, I think, anyhow.
I am down in the scrub pine area of North Carolina. We have other trees, too, but not nearly as beautiful as up that way. Most of our rural areas are not colorful, either. Barns are grey, weathered and beaten, if you find one, that is. But even so, grey can be beautiful. I do so love the ones that are colorful, though.

Cathy,

Glad you like what I have been able to share about Michigan the last couple of months. I have traveled Michigan extensivly since a child and probably, like you, become complacent about the beauty around me. It has been a long time since I have been through North Carolina and that was just it, passing through. When you say the "scrub pine area" I can understand the boredom but a search indicates "The Outer Banks" nearby that would be like heaven to me. Where I live is flat, brown and a good picture requires some work. A good majority of my recent nature shots are in an area that I overlooked most of my life. Fell in love with this area a 150 miles from home and may make an effort to live there. My heaven, I guess. Anyway....thank you for looking!!!

Bob

Most of my work comes out of my front yard. I live in the sandhills of NC. Just about an hour or so drive from the coast. I love NC in that I have much to work with. Mountains on one side of the state and ocean on the other. I like rural scenes the best. Love to visit the coast and shoot, but I can only deal with so many seagulls and sunsets. Plus I don't like what salt air does to cameras. When I do go to the coast, I make it short and sweet. If I do it that way, I don't grow tired of it. Same with the mountains, I suppose. There is a rural area about an hour or so from me, going towards the middle of my state that I adore. I have a folder full of shots from there that I hold on to, that do not go on DA. They are part of a series that I am working on as a gift to a photographer friend of mine. He has designs on giving them to his boss, I believe. I am waiting for him to come back down this way, will let him pick and chose from the lot as to what he thinks works best. I can never decide. Too critical.

I guess water has always been a lure to me. Only to the ocean twice and both times Myrtle Beach. At the time never gave salt air/cameras a thought Just enjoyed the off season prices, 80 in February and no golf carts, LOL. Did smell kind of funny compared to the Great Lakes. Hope you share your mountain work with us one day.

Thanks. Out in the middle of nowhere. Not staged, not a park, just some barms. A nice surprise.
