My entry for faerveren 's Design a Kyou contest <3 I had so much fun designing her so I really hope you like her~ I'm still fleshing out a few things here and here But if I need to add anything I'll just update this~

Personality/Background:

Kiyomeru can be a little bit of a handful sometimes with her spunky and playful, teasing manner, but she is always light hearted and generally someone who is easy to get along with. She is confident in who she is and assertive of what she wants in her life. She is not one to dwell on negative situations, believing that everything happens for a reason, and that it's how you deal with the obstacles thrown at you, that shape your life. She is very optimistic in that everyone will get their own happy ending, even if they have to go through hell before they get to that point.

Being raised in The Forest of Souls, she has a very strong connection to nature and dislikes living away from it. She loves the feel of the earth beneath her feet and hates having to wear shoes, she only does so on special occasions when its required of her. The scent of the forest is her favourite smell and can instantly bring her peace when around it.

While she loves the land, the ocean is a different story. She has a fear of the water that stems from a childhood incident, when she had been wandering around in a forest and slipped down a hillside when the ground gave way where she stood. This caused her to fall into a fast flowing river that carried her downstream.

She is a vegetarian, claiming that she needs to keep her body as pure as possible to allow her medium abilities to function properly. She feels blocked off from spirits when she drinks alcohol or eats the wrong kinds of food, and losing that connection is an idea that terrifies her, especially after an event at a party where she ended up getting really drunk. It took her 3 days of recovering before she regained a proper connection to the spirits, and during that time she went into a state of shock. She was a mess emotionally, and decided to never drink again after that. She feels she wouldn't be who she is without being connected to the spirits, and losing that over a few drinks isn't worth it to her.

Kiyomeru is a writer by nature and a hopeless romantic, a trait she shares with her cousin Koiji. He helps her add to her story-lines and contributes many ideas, some of which are based off of his relationship with Meirou. Though she writes a series of romance novels, she herself tends to actually be oblivious when a man is hitting on her, unless he is really blunt about what his intentions are.

She likes to travel around when working on her novels, Kirigakure is a place she visits often, which is ironic considering her fear of water. She feels she can find such interesting people there, one man in particular, though he is always difficult to get a hold of.

She has photographic memory and will often get caught daydreaming about the various places shes been, or even about the scenes she writes in her novels. Her favourite places to think about are fields and forests. Her photographic memory can sometimes aid with her job as medium. Being able to pick out certain places shes been where there might have been disturbances to the land caused by people or spirits. It can help her better understand why a spirit would be upset.

Devil Possession:
Kiyomeru is currently in the beginning stages of dealing with her Devil Possession. She will notice certain episodes in which she blacks out and forgets things and will come across her journals that have been moved to weird places. When she looks inside of them she is horrified by what she reads, angry, brutally violent short stories in her writing, but not her words.
The cause of its awakening will be revealed later on~ ;D

Family:
Koiji Kyou: Her favourite cousin, he is like the brother she never had. She loves him dearly and will do anything for him.
Akurei Kyou: Another one of her cousins she got the pleasure of knowing through the years, together with Koiji. She sometimes delivers rare plants to Akurei's mothers flower shop as gifts.
Fiancé: Kenshi Hadou

Kenshi is a man she met throughout her visits to Kirigakure, taking place a few years before shippuden. The two would see each other from time to time, but never spoke to for too long as he was always occupied with other things. Until he would come to stay in Konohagakure a few years later, where he would eventually become her fiancé.

Trivia:
Kiyomeru (浄める) means, to purify; to cleanse; to exorcise
Following Kyou traditions, Kenshi made sure her engagement ring was made from rose quartz. The beads she wears are also made from rose quarts, and aid her with her channeling.
Allergic to cats
She likes tall muscular men
She is not a ninja and never has been, however her fiance is/was a street fighter and taught her self defense
