Description

Note: Okay, here's another short set in the Hundred Acre Detectives series I just had to get out of the way before the end of the decade.

Back in 2009, when I was part of a certain video self-inserted crossover series, I was eager on doing a version of Rudolph's Shiny New Year that took place in 2009, nearing the end of the first decade of the 21st century, and I was eager on having Pooh and Tigger, acknowledged as famous characters of fiction (because of the mass merchandise and franchise they get), hosting a brief video of notable people we've lost in the 2000's. It was partially inspired by the Family Guy episode when there was a memoriam video of people lost in the 20th century.

I've been keeping putting the project on hold because the computer I had was as slow as crud and I still never had enough discipline to focus, not even on that memorial video. One of my main regrets is spending 2010 to 2015 thinking I could try to tolerate the Adventures movies and make them all work as the right series of "what cartoon characters do in their world after they've finished making the media they're featured in". I regret not seeing the light a whole lot sooner, realizing there were too many wrong things to fix, and also, I realized there was no way I'd be able to keep up with so much video editing.

So, eventually, I realized I'd be better off doing some things I wanted to see happen in fanfiction form, but I regret not realizing that a whole lot sooner. There would have been less stress from 2009 to 2015.

Now, instead of making the 2000s memorial as a special feature at the end of a character crossover version of "Rudolph's Shiny New Year" taking place in 2009, this will be done as an old recording on a tape at the end of 2009 that Eeyore re-watches in this decade.

I do not own the characters or names in this short fanfiction. Please no flames.

One day, somewhere in the early 2010's, Eeyore felt more bored than usual. So he went into a toons' break room where some toons could do anything, and he decided to pop in a tape with a recording of a memorial slideshow. We see Pooh and Tigger at the beginning of the tape.

Pooh: Hello, everyone. You know us, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger.

Tigger: Now, we are about to enter the next decade, the 2010's, but we'd like to take a good look back at the past decade, the 2000's.

Pooh: As the first decade of the 21st century, it was a decade of joy, but also a decade of sadness.

Tigger: Yes, we've lost a big number of great people over the 10 years. Let's take a look back at the following people we've lost in the 2000's.

(We now see a slideshow with pictures of people who have died in the 2000's, each one with their names labeled as each picture shows. Note: when it says "all the victims of 9/11", there's no pictures of people shown, but a picture of the twin towers.)

As the slideshow ended, Tigger and Pooh looked unhappy.

Pooh: Those were memorable names we've all grown attached with and will always have a place in our hearts.

Tigger: Especially our acting teachers, Paul and John. They really taught me and ol' Piglet how to perform.

Pooh: There were a few more people than them, but unfortunately, we couldn't fit them ALL in, but we still wish respect for them and their families. And let us hope the 2010's decade will be better.

Tigger: And let's hope we'll get more stuff from the Disney company.

Pooh: I'm not holding my breath though, Tigger. In other words, to everyone of you who's watching this...

Both: Happy New Decade!

The tape ended, and Eeyore turned off the TV with a sigh.

Eeyore: If only they could foresee how even more sloppy things are getting.

End

There, that's finally done, and I won't have to think about it again.
