One of the most lovingly portrayed yet tragic parents of 1990s-2000s Nickelodeon, Melinda Finster was and always an angelic vision of loveliness in the eyes of Rugrats fans and her family and friends. Plus her green thumb has extended past her death: her garden is still as beautiful as when she was a young mother. Obviously also it didn’t hurt that Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame [link] and the 1980s films Police Academy [link] and Mannequin [link] played her. There has been speculations over her death, a few fans (okay me) worried over how she wasn’t mentioned in the spin-off All Grown Up! (Aside from a brief appearance in the Finster Christmas home videos and a poignant mention in the episode “Super Hero Worship” [link] ), the mediocre continuity of the show placing speculation over her livelihood [link] , rumors over a lost episode of her death, the erasure of her relatives [link] , course we have her poem she left for Chuckie [link] , and also the uncertainty fans have about what killed her (Illness?).
